Hello.
I’m Catherine Kennedy and I’m passionate about making learning an encouraging and hopeful experience for learners who think differently.
A different way of thinking
To begin with, I want you to know that I’ve walked this journey too. As a mum to a child with Dyslexia and ADHD, I know first hand the worry you can feel when your child is struggling with reading and learning. I genuinely believe that dyslexia is not a limitation but a different way of thinking, and every child has the ability to thrive with the right support.
My approach: personal & positive
Every child's journey is unique, which is why my support is completely personalised. I focus on building confidence, metacognition and developing the specific literacy skills your child needs to succeed in their own unique way.
We start with a strengths-based approach:
-
Informal Assessment: We’ll have an informal chat to discuss your child’s background and I will then assess your child’s reading, writing, and spelling in person.
-
Targeted Plan: I’ll develop a targeted plan based on their natural abilities and interests.
-
Support Areas: I help children aged 6–18 years with areas such as reading fluency and comprehension, spelling and writing skills, memory strategies, and most importantly, building genuine confidence and self-esteem.
-
Teamwork: I always stress collaboration between myself, parents/guardians and their school, to ensure that support stays consistent and relevant.

Good news: you don't need a formal diagnosis to get started; if you're concerned about your child's learning, that's enough.
